Dubai; 30, January 2017: Nathaniel Davro
 won seven straight games before cruising with back-to-back draws in the
 final two rounds to rule 45th UAE National Day Rapid Chess Tournament 
over the weekend at the Shaikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Hall of the 
Dubai Chess and Culture Club. 
Nathaniel Davro, scored eight points to win the tournament, which served as Dubai’s centerpiece chess event commemorating the 45th founding year of the UAE.
After seven straight wins, Nathaniel Davro settled for draws with GM Elmar Magerramov of Azerbaijan in the eighth round and GM Igors Rausis in the ninth round.
Mohammad Al Husseini, Executive Director of Dubai Chess and Culture Club, and International Arbiter (IA) Saeed Yousuf Shakari, the tournament director and chief arbiter, handed out the championship cup to Nathaniel Davro and the Dh 5,000 cash prize.
